Hargeisa Livestock Maket

An essential part of the Hargeisa experience is the livestock market, which lies on the southeastern outskirts of town. Located about a 20 minute walk from the main drag, it takes place daily in the morning, and it is best to go early to see the most animals and activity. At the Hargeisa livestock market, animals are traded for both domestic use and export.Hundreds of goats, sheep and camels are brought here every day, and it’s a fascinating place to wander. The livestock trade is the backbone of the Somaliland`s economy. Most of the livestock are sent to the port of Berbera, where they are exported to the Middle East.
